Product Description:
The X67BC6321.L12 is an I/O module produced by B&R Automation for its X67 Analog Input/Output Modules series. Designed for mounting directly on the machine, the unit gathers both analog and digital process data and transmits those signals to the control system through a PROFIBUS DP network. By combining sensor inputs and actuator outputs in one compact block, the device supports distributed architectures that reduce panel wiring, shorten sensor runs, and preserve the sealed housing required for field installation.
Signal interfaces on the module are routed through standard M12 connectors, allowing preassembled sensor cables to be attached easily. Each of the 16 digital channels can be configured as an input or output and operates at a logic level of 24 VDC, so the module can directly operate proximity switches and solenoid coils. An adjustable input filter suppresses contact bounce, while two event counters register pulses up to 50 kHz for encoder or flow meter tasks. System communication is handled by a PROFIBUS DP fieldbus interface that maps process data cyclically into the controller’s I/O table with deterministic timing.
The housing is 85 mm high and 53 mm wide, allowing installation in areas with limited mounting space. It is secured to the machine frame with M4 screws recommended by the manufacturer. Each output channel can supply up to 0.5 A, providing enough current for small pneumatic valves or indicator lamps without external relays. Power consumption for the internal electronics and the X2X backplane is limited to 15 W, which simplifies thermal calculations inside sealed enclosures. Because the input filter is software configurable, debounce timing can be matched to both mechanical contacts and high-speed sensors without rewiring. The module receives its logic and load power through the field wiring, so additional feeder cables are unnecessary.
