Product Description:
The X67AT1402 is an analog thermocouple input module in the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series from B&R Automation. Installed directly on machinery, it acquires low-level voltage signals from temperature probes and forwards conditioned data over the X2X real-time network, allowing the controller to monitor and adjust heating or cooling functions without long sensor wiring runs. By placing measurement electronics in the field, the module increases accuracy and reduces cabinet space in distributed industrial automation architectures.
Each of the four differential channels uses a 16-bit converter so the controller receives 65,536 discrete temperature steps rather than a coarse approximation. That resolution is produced by a Sigma-delta conversion method, which oversamples and digitally filters to suppress noise from motor drives or switching power supplies. Field supply is 24 VDC, delivered through an inline feed so no separate cabinet supply is needed. Sensor leads attach to a 4x M12, A-coded connector block that withstands vibration and allows quick replacement on the line. The housing meets IP67 so it resists dust ingress and high-pressure washdown, supporting installation on food-processing conveyors. The module accepts type K, J, and T thermocouples, and its inputs align with IEC 60584-1 to maintain interchangeable accuracy across multivendor plants.
Electrical spacing delivers 500 Veff isolation between field wiring and the internal bus, preventing ground loops when modules are daisy-chained along the machine frame. Measured temperatures are quantized to 0.1 °C, furnishing tight process windows for plastics extrusion or reflow soldering. Built-in reverse polarity protection keeps the electronics safe if the 24 V feed is wired incorrectly, while the logic consumes only 2.6 W, limiting cabinet thermal load. An M8 4-pin connector carries sensor supply to downstream modules, and the M12, B-coded X2X link draws just 0.75 W for communication, preserving power budget on long node strings.
