Product Description:
The X67AM1223 is an analog input/output module produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It converts field-level voltage signals to digital data and back, allowing a controller on the X2X bus to monitor process variables and drive actuators without local signal conditioning. The module is intended for decentralized installation on machinery where cabinet-free I/O reduces wiring length. This arrangement places signal handling close to the machine while keeping control functions on the network.
Each analog front end provides 2 inputs / 2 outputs, and every input is wired as a differential pair to suppress common-mode disturbances. An input impedance of 20 MΩ minimizes loading on transducers, while a low-pass filter with a cutoff at 300 Hz limits high-frequency noise before conversion by the 12-bit ADC. The over-range capability accepts up to ±30 V so occasional transients do not damage the circuitry. The aluminum housing meets the IP67 protection class, enabling direct mounting on conveyors, robots, or tooling stations that are exposed to washdown fluid or dust. All analog and logic functions are powered from a nominal supply of 24 VDC, distributed through the M12 feed-through connectors.
The two voltage outputs reproduce setpoints with 12-bit resolution, and an analog reconstruction filter rolls off frequencies above 2.5 kHz to keep dither within actuator bandwidths. Each channel can drive the full span of ±10 V, matching standard servo command levels used in motion axes. Galvanic isolation between the I/O electronics and the internal backplane is rated at 500 V eff, which shields the PLC from ground shifts present on mobile equipment. During normal duty the electronics dissipate 3 W, while the X2X communication interface draws only 0.75 W, keeping thermal load low in sealed installations. The unit weighs 195 g, so mounting on a small carriage or end effector has minimal effect on dynamic mass.
