Product Description:
The X67AI4850 is an analog input module produced by B&R Automation for the X67 Analog Input/Output Modules series. Designed for decentralized installation directly on machinery, it acquires position signals from displacement sensors and forwards the data over the X2X real-time bus. By placing measurement electronics close to the transducer, the unit reduces wiring length and helps controllers obtain accurate feedback for axis positioning or material-handling tasks.
Signal quality is supported by a converter resolution of 14 bits, allowing precise digitization across the full travel of the monitored potentiometer. The inputs are factory-scaled for potentiometer-based displacement gauges, so the module can read resistive position transducers without additional signal-conditioning hardware. A housing size of 53 × 42 × 85 mm lets the device fit into tight cable trays or mounting brackets while retaining space for internal shielding and diagnostic LEDs. Up to 8 A of permissible I/O current may be distributed across the daisy-chained power conductors, supporting several downstream load devices without requiring separate branch connections at each node. The fully molded enclosure carries a protection rating of IP67, enabling flush mounting on moving tooling where coolant or dust is present.
The analog and logic domains of the upstream supply lines are galvanically isolated, limiting ground loops between remote machine sections. The sensor connections provide full 360° shield clamping to minimize radiated noise when long travel cables are routed beside power leads. Network traffic passes through two X2X bus sockets, and each socket uses an industrial M12 B-keyed connector that locks securely and seals against spray. This port arrangement allows the module to operate within a line topology and forward data to the next node without additional junction hardware.
