The X67AI1333 analog input module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the X67 Analog Input Output Modules series. It digitizes industrial current loops and forwards the measured values over the manufacturer’s X2X Link. Mounted directly on machinery, the module shortens sensor cable runs and provides real-time feedback to controllers that supervise motion, temperature, or pressure in distributed automation systems.

Each of the 4 galvanically isolated input channels is sampled by a 16-bit sigma-delta converter that yields 65,536 discrete levels for precise scaling. The circuitry accepts a current signal within a nominal window of 0 to 20 mA; when a process uses a live-zero format, the module correctly interprets the 4 to 20 mA band so open-circuit faults drop to zero counts. An internal filter is configurable, letting users choose the cutoff that best balances response time and noise. These electrical features allow the same hardware to monitor slow-changing analog transmitters or dynamic hydraulic actuators without compromising resolution or diagnostic coverage.

The housing carries an IP67 rating, enabling installation in washdown or dust-laden areas without extra enclosures. Up to 253 modules can share one line, and adjacent stations may be placed as far as 100 m apart, supporting large conveyor or packaging machines. Cable shielding is clamped with 360° grounding to suppress electromagnetic interference on the current loops. The fieldbus trunk reaches the unit through a M12, B-keyed connector, while power and sensor leads terminate on standard M8 sockets for quick tool-free assembly. Despite the protection rating, the cast housing measures only 53 × 42 × 85 mm, helping designers fit I/O beside valves and drives inside tight machine spaces.
