Product Description:
The X20ZF0000/1 is a placeholder component from B & R Automation that belongs to the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Classified as a dummy module, it reserves space on an I/O node so that future signal or power modules can be inserted without rewiring or mechanical changes. In distributed control cabinets, this part keeps the mechanical pitch of the rail consistent while unused slots are protected from accidental contact.
This module occupies a Single-Width position on the X20 backplane and follows the standard rail pitch of 12.5 mm with a tolerance of +0.2. Its housing measures 75 mm in depth and 99 mm in height, allowing it to align flush with neighboring functional units. The housing is rated IP20, which provides finger-safe touch protection for energized conductors when the terminal cover is in place. Electrical contacts are carried through the X20TB06 or X20TB12 terminal blocks, matching the rest of the platform for quick insertion and release. Because it has no active electrical function, the module does not introduce signals onto the internal power bus, but it maintains reference continuity by linking the field potential to +24 VDC and the internal reference potential to GND. Horizontal or vertical mounting is possible without changing clearances, which is useful in densely packed cabinets.
The field potential line is rated at +24 VDC, so spacing and creepage inside the housing match the voltage class used by powered I/O segments in the series. Installation is permitted up to 2000 m above sea level without temperature correction, and above that height the thermal derating is 0.5 °C/100 m. The part is a Dummy Module, so it provides mechanical continuity and grounding paths while omitting active circuitry. This allows an unused slot to remain occupied without adding I/O channels or power conversion hardware.
