Product Description:
The X20TB52 terminal block is manufactured by B&R Automation as part of the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It is a detachable wiring carrier that links field conductors to an X20 I/O slice, allowing module replacement without disturbing cabinet wiring. Within an automation node, it presents spring contacts for field signals on the front, while the rear edge mates with the series backplane to create the required mechanical and electrical interface. This arrangement lets the field wiring remain in place when the electronics slice is removed, which helps reduce disruption inside dense control cabinets.
Each connection is protected to IP20, making the terminals finger-safe when mounted inside an enclosure. The insulation system tolerates up to 300 VAC, and continuous operation is intended for a nominal line of 240 VAC. Current capacity reaches 10 A per contact, and copper conductors keep contact resistance below 5 mΩ, which helps limit heat rise during load. A horizontal pitch of 4.2 mm helps minimize panel width, while the 10.96 mm vertical pitch leaves clearance for ferrules. Push-in terminals accept only solid or stranded copper wires and support tool-free wiring, and probe windows admit standard test probes for verification.
Mechanical alignment and installation security rely on the keyed coding system, so only the correct module can seat on the base. The block carries 12 numbered positions and uses a safety-keyed profile to reduce the chance of a mismatched connection. An integrated lever allows quick release in confined racks, and custom coding with plain-text labeling is available for project-specific channel maps. A constant-force spring clamp maintains reliable pressure on copper conductors during repeated wiring cycles, and the release action is useful where adjacent slices leave little finger room.
