Product Description:
The X20TB12/PL3 terminal block is manufactured by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It installs on the X20 backplane and provides a pluggable wiring base for the electronic slice, while its keyed housing ensures that only the correct module is inserted in a 24 V control segment. Within distributed automation cabinets, the part serves as the mechanical and electrical interface that routes signals from field sensors and actuators to the system bus. Its pluggable form also separates field wiring from the electronic slice, which helps keep the node layout orderly during module handling.
The wiring side follows the IP20 touch-safe rating, so energized conductors are protected against accidental finger contact when the carrier is closed. A 12-pin layout is provided, and each circuit uses a push-in spring clamp that accepts solid or ferruled leads without additional tools. The housing carries a keying tongue for a control voltage of 24 VDC, preventing mismatched insertion when several voltages coexist on the rail. For transient events, the assembly satisfies Overvoltage Category II. A recessed slot allows test probe access without disconnecting wires, and a strain-relief bracket can be clipped onto the molded guide to secure outgoing conductors.
Conductor sizes are capped at 0.75 mm² when ferrules are used and at 1.50 mm² for single-wire insertion. Shock tolerance reaches 15 g, and the terminal remains suitable for environments with a maximum relative humidity of 95% RH. Cable management guidelines limit tie widths to 4.0 mm and thickness to 1.2 mm so the molded channels remain unobstructed. Vibration endurance is verified at 1 g for standard machine environments, helping the wiring base remain stable where routine machine movement and cabinet vibration are present.
