Product Description:
The X20SO6530 output module is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It mounts on the X20 backplane and presents six relay outputs, enabling a controller to switch moderate-power devices throughout distributed machinery. Each relay uses a normally open contact so connected loads remain de-energized at power-up. By embedding electromechanical relays in a compact footprint, the unit lets PLCs drive contactors, pilot lamps, or pneumatic valves without separate interposing hardware, which helps simplify cabinet layouts. This arrangement also allows the control system to isolate switching tasks at the module level instead of assigning them to external relay blocks.
The module’s electrical limits cover both AC and DC circuits. A single channel can deliver up to 230 VAC / 6 A, which suits mains-rated solenoids or heaters, while the DC limit of 24 VDC / 6 A supports control coils on brakes and safety relays. Six independent outputs share this capacity, and the relay design maintains galvanic isolation between field power and the backplane. Continuous service is allowed from 0 °C to 60 °C, letting the unit operate inside standard control cabinets without forced cooling. Environmental tolerance reaches 95% non-condensing relative humidity, making it suitable for humid production zones such as beverage filling lines. The product is classified in overvoltage category II for fixed equipment connected to a building distribution network.
For elevated installations, the module keeps full performance up to 2000 m above sea level. Its housing carries the IP20 protection class, so it requires mounting inside an enclosure while still allowing front access to wiring. Mechanical endurance has been validated for impacts of 15 g and continuous vibration of 1 g, supporting reliable relay actuation on equipment exposed to stamping, indexing, or transport shocks. These limits are suited to standard industrial machines where repeated motion and incidental impact are present. The combination of enclosure mounting, altitude capability, and mechanical tolerance makes the module appropriate for general factory automation use.
