X20PS9502 is a power supply module for X20 PLCs from B & R Automation. It is designed for industrial applications. The module is specifically designed to supply power for internal I/O, X2X networks, and CPUs for Fieldbus or Compact series. The module is a cost-effective solution for small X20 series systems. It does not provide isolation between the CPU supply and X2X link supply. By using multiple modules, it is possible to provide redundant operation for higher availability. The X20PS9502 is equipped with a RS-232 interface and CAN bus interface. Both of these interfaces requires a X20TB12 terminal block for external wiring connections. The maximum data transfer rate for the RS-232 interface is 115.2 kbps. The maximum data transfer rate for the CAN bus interface is 1 Mbps.
The manufacturer has designed the power supply module so that it supports both horizontal and vertical mounting. Up to 2000 meters, there is no limitation for reduction of ambient temperature. Above this limit, the ambient temperature must be reduced by 0.5 degrees for every 100 meter altitude increase. With horizontal mounting, the recommended temperature range is -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. For vertical mounting, the recommended temperature range is -25 to 50 degrees Celsius. The recommend ambient temperature for module storage or transport is -40 to 85 degrees. Housing of the module is IP20 rated: it can be used indoor, but outdoor use is only possible when a suitable cabinet is used for installation. The input voltage for I/O is 24 Volts DC and the output voltage is 24 Volts DC. A fuse is required on the input power line and on the output power line.
