Product Description:

The X20PS3300 is a supply and protection slice produced by B & R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. In a distributed control cabinet, this slice provides regulated direct-current energy for sensors, actuators, and the neighboring electronic terminals while also monitoring overload events. The housing matches the series mechanical profile, so it snaps onto the DIN rail and interconnects through the internal X20 backplane without additional cabling, keeping power distribution compact in machine-level automation assemblies.

On the I/O side, the module delivers an output potential of 24 VDC and can switch loads up to 10 A through its contact terminals. An integrated 10 A slow-blow line fuse limits fault energy, so external fuse holders are not required. Reverse-polarity protection is absent on this section, so wiring must observe correct polarity, and the supply rail is not isolated from the upstream source. Internal electronics draw only 0.6 W, leaving most of the current available for field devices. The circuitry is short-circuit proof and tolerates temporary overloads. The unit has a module pitch of 12.5 +0.2 mm, can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and carries an IP20 protection rating for cabinet-mounted environments.

Power for the real-time X2X backplane is managed separately. A built-in fuse protects that bus, and the link can supply up to 7 W of continuous power while drawing a peak of 0.7 A from the system source. The communication conductors are galvanically isolated, reducing ground-loop risk, and reverse-polarity protection is implemented on this path. Total consumption by the X2X circuitry is only 1.42 W, which minimizes heat inside compact cabinets. This backplane supply path is separate from the I/O output section, so the module can support internal bus power and field-side distribution at the same time.
