Product Description:
The X20PS2100 is an internal I/O power supply module from B&R Automation in the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Within an X20 slice, the unit distributes DC power to connected digital and analog terminals so controllers and sensors can share one compact backplane. It converts the external supply voltage into a stabilized internal rail, which lets adjacent I/O modules draw power without separate wiring and helps keep cabinet layouts compact.
The module draws only 0.2 W of bus power, so loading on the fieldbus backplane remains minimal. It can deliver up to 240 W of internal I/O power for downstream modules and their loads, and under full load its self-dissipation peaks at 0.6 W for enclosure heat calculations. The total output current available across the slice is limited to 10 A, which helps protect traces and connectors from excessive heating during continuous operation. An IP20 housing is finger-safe but not sealed against dust or liquids, so the device is intended for use inside clean control cabinets. The module is an internal I/O power supply and is rated for overvoltage category II, which suits the transient levels normally found on branch circuits.
Environmental capability supports installations up to 2000 m above sea level without derating, and the module can operate in ambient humidity up to 95% non-condensing. Mechanical durability includes shock resistance of 15 g for 11 ms half-sine pulses, which helps maintain stable contact during abrupt machine movement or transport events. Continuous vibration tolerance reaches 1 g between 10 Hz and 58 Hz, supporting use on machinery that transmits regular motion into the cabinet structure. Internal sensing monitors the maximum I/O summation current and disconnects the rail if limits are exceeded, helping protect the slice while reducing the need for separate external protection components.
