Product Description:

The X20PD2113 is a power distribution module manufactured by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Installed alongside signal slices, it routes the cabinet’s 24-volt control supply onto the internal power rail and provides matching return paths, which reduces the need for separate terminal rows. The module occupies a single X20 slot and locks to adjoining modules with the series latching mechanism, so it can be added to compact I/O stations without increasing panel complexity. Its job is to deliver low-voltage power to digital and analog I/O devices used in modular fieldbus-based automation systems.

The module accepts a regulated 24 VDC supply and distributes that feed across 6 24 VDC distribution points, allowing separate downstream groups to be supplied from one slice. It also provides 12 total distribution points, because each positive connection is paired with a corresponding return connection to keep wiring organized. Internal electronics require only 0.12 W of bus power from the X20 backplane, so the module places very little demand on the controller’s auxiliary supply. Protection is provided by an integrated fine-wire fuse, which disconnects the branch if current rises above the allowed level.

For return conductors, the unit includes 6 ground points, giving the same conductor count on the reference side as on the positive side. The internal copper busbars support a collective 10 A maximum I/O summation current, which is suitable for feeding multiple sensor groups or actuator coils from the same module while staying within typical control-cable limits. Overall power dissipation remains low, so the slice does not add significant heat inside compact control cabinets. This layout helps keep cabinet wiring orderly while maintaining a centralized power path for adjoining I/O slices.
