Product Description:
The X20PD0016 is a power-distribution slice in the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series manufactured by B&R Automation. Mounted on the system backplane, the unit channels 24 VDC supply lines and corresponding grounds to neighboring I/O modules. By integrating fused distribution and interface wiring inside a 12.5 mm housing, it simplifies control cabinet layouts, supports modular expansion of decentralized stations, and allows individual fieldbus segments to be isolated for service without shutting down the entire machine.
The electrical envelope starts with an input range of 24 VDC -15% / +20%, allowing operation during supply dips or peaks. A short circuit on the 24 V rail trips the integrated fuse, whereas the ground path has no internal protection and therefore relies on external breakers. Communication with the system bus requires only 0.12 W, while the external I/O rails draw 1.15 W when fully loaded. Each output path can deliver up to 10 A, so high-current valves or contactors can be powered directly. Continuous horizontal service is permitted from -25 to 60 °C. In vertical orientation, the upper limit is 50 °C because natural convection is reduced. Reverse-polarity events are not tolerated, so wiring must respect conductor labeling before power-up.
The module forwards a regulated 24 VDC on five dedicated outputs, accompanied by five ground terminals that provide fixed-polarity distribution. Overcurrent events open the front-mounted 6.3 A slow-blow cartridge fuse, allowing quick restoration after replacement. Mechanical alignment with other slices is maintained by a pitch of 12.5+0.2 mm, and the housing carries an ingress-protection rating of IP20, limiting installation to closed electrical enclosures. Reliable service is permitted for ambient humidity from 5 to 95% non-condensing, and components withstand storage temperatures from -40 to 85 °C.
