X20MM4455 is a PWM motor bridge module. This PWM module is a product of B & R Automation. It is designed for use with X20 PLC systems. The module can be used to control four DC motors. It can supply output voltage ranging from 24 to 48 Volts DC at current up to 6 Amps. The maximum current output is 10 Amps. The X20MM4455 module can also be configured as a current controller for use with inductive loads. Twelve digital inputs are available on the module. These can be used as incremental counters. The module uses a full-bridge configuration for motor control allowing motors to be moved in either direction. The PWM frequency is 15 to 60 kilohertz and the resolution is 15 bits. Three LED indicators are provided for module status, operating state and I/O function.
Module diagnostics are available via software. The LED indicators can also be used for monitoring and control. Power consumption of the bus is 0.01 Watts and that for the internal I/O is 2.4 Watts. Power consumption of the external I/O varies with frequency. For 50 kilohertz external I/O the power consumption is 3.3 Watts per channel at 24 Volts DC, 4.7 Watts per channel at 48 Volts DC and 5.4 Watts per channel at 60 Volts DC. The X20MM4455 module supports horizontal mounting orientation. The performance derates above 2000 meters altitude and above 50 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. Protection rating of the module housing is IP20. The permitted ambient temperature range for transport and storage is -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. Two X20TB12 terminal blocks and one 0TB3103-7020 terminal blocks must be ordered separately. Terminal blocks should not be plugged in or unplugged during operation.
