Wake Industrial LLC is not an authorized distributor of this product.
The B & R Automation X20MM4331 is part of the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series and features 4 half bridge outputs with thermal shutdown protection. This module supports a continuous current of 3 A, peak current of 5 A for 250 milliseconds, and operates at a nominal voltage of 24 VDC. It has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50°C and carries an IP20 protection rating.
Internal Product Review
The X20MM4331 is a fieldbus I/O module with four half-bridge outputs. Thermal shutdown protection and 500 Veff channel-to-bus insulation support stable performance in control applications. The 10 A max module current makes the module a strong choice for demanding output handling.

Product Description:
B&R Automation’s X20MM4331 is a digital output module in the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. The unit occupies a single slot on an X20 backplane and delivers low-voltage switching signals for driving solenoids, relays, and small motors inside distributed control panels. In an automation cell, the module translates fieldbus telegrams into switching states, letting the controller energize or de-energize loads without routing discrete wiring back to the PLC rack, which shortens installation time and simplifies diagnostics.
From a power standpoint, the module draws only 0.01 W of bus energy for its internal logic, while the output side needs 0.8 W from the internal I/O supply when idle. The rated supply is 24 VDC, and the switching path tolerates a -15% to +20% deviation around that level without loss of function. Each of the four channels uses a half-bridge driver and offers a current step size of 100 mA, giving the PLC predictable control for proportional loads. Electrical separation between the field side and backplane is specified at 500 Veff of channel-to-bus insulation, which helps protect upstream electronics. Thermal shutdown is integrated on every output, and the module provides four output points.
The current envelope is designed for continuous loads up to 3 A per channel and an overall ceiling of 10 A across the module, with a short-term pulse capability of 5 A (250 ms) to handle inrush on inductive devices. Reliable operation is specified between 0 to 50 °C ambient, and the electronics can be stored from -25 to 70 °C. Allowed humidity spans 5 to 95% non-condensing, so cabinet climate control can remain moderate. Protective functions are housed in an IP20 enclosure that requires installation in a shielded cabinet.
