Product Description:
The X20MK0201 is a modular unit produced by B&R Automation as part of the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Within a distributed control panel, this module provides non-volatile program and parameter storage so that a local I/O station can restart independently after power is restored and retain collected data during brief outages. Its design fits the same 24 mm-wide carrier used by other X20 components, so memory resources can be expanded without changing the system footprint or wiring layout in an industrial automation rack. This role makes the module useful wherever stored operating data must remain available to the control system between cycles.
The X20MK0201 operates reliably between 0 to 60 °C, which covers typical electrical cabinet conditions without additional cooling. A housing rated at IP20 helps prevent accidental finger contact and protects against settled dust when the module is installed inside an enclosure. The onboard flash provides 2 MB of capacity, which is suitable for recipe sets, parameter blocks, or boot data for an adjacent CPU slice. Flash cells tolerate up to 100,000 erase/write cycles, allowing repeated data updates over long service periods before endurance becomes a concern. Installation flexibility is supported by horizontal or vertical mounting, which can simplify cabinet layouts where rail space or airflow direction affects module placement.
Operation is permitted up to 2000 m with no altitude derating. Above that level, the allowable ambient temperature decreases by 0.5 °C per 100 m above 2000 m to help maintain acceptable internal operating conditions. Long-term storage is approved from -40 to 85 °C, and the same range applies during transport, so the unit can tolerate unconditioned storage and shipping environments. The module is intended for use with B&R Automation X20 nodes that may be stored before final installation and then placed into service without changing the surrounding I/O platform.
