Product Description:
X20IF1061-1 is a communication module. It works with X20 systems from B & R automation. The module is equipped with a Profibus DP V1 interface. This module is used when third-party components need to be integrated with the X20 systems. Use of the module allows data transfer between connected systems. The X20IF1061-1 module can be operated in the X20BC1083 Powerlink bus controller or the X20 CPU. Components on the module are coated for protection against corrosive gases and condensation. The coating is certified according to BMW GS 95011-4 and EN 60068-2-60 standards. Forced air cooling of the module is strictly not permitted. Optional module accessories include a RS-485 bus connector for Profibus networks. The Profibus physical interface is a 9-pin female with DSUB connector. The maximum transmission distance supported by the interface is 1200 meters.
The communication interface supports maximum 12 Mbps data transfer rate. The X20IF1061-1 module has 8 MB SDRAM memory. Cyclic data specifications include maximum 3.5 kB input data and maximum 3.5 kB output data. When the module is connected to a Powerlink bus controller, the cyclic data is limited to 1488 bytes for the transmit and receive directions. The module comes with pre-installed firmware. To update firmware the Automation Studio software can be used. Configuration of the Profibus interface can also be performed through Automation Studio software. The communication module has a power consumption of 1.8 Watts. Diagnostics of module and network status are available via LED indicators and software. Diagnostics for data transfer are available via LED indicator. The Profibus module is certified by CE, ATEX, UL, HazLoc and KC. It should be installed by trained and experienced personnel.
