Product Description:
X20IF1020 is an X20 series module. It is used for X20 CPU expansion. The module can be used for certain specific applications. The module is equipped with a serial RS-232 interface that can be configured as an online interface. This serial interface can support data transfer rates of up to 115.2 kbps. Optional accessories for the module include a RS-232 online cable. The serial interface has a 9-pin male connector. It can support maximum transmission distance of 900 meters. Handshake lines include request to send (RTS) and clear to send (CTS). Controller for the interface is a universal asynchronous receiver transmitter or UART that is 16C550 compatible. The interface supports 5 to 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and even/odd and yes/no parity.
The module provides isolation between the RS-232 interface and the PLC. Diagnostics are available via LEDs on the module. Two LEDs are available: module status and data transfer. Power consumed by the X20IF1020 module is 0.35 Watts. The X20IF1020 module supports mounting in the vertical and horizontal orientations. Its housing is IP20 rated, which means it is not dustproof or waterproof. Therefore, especially for outdoor use, it must be installed inside a suitable housing. Recommended ambient temperature for operation with vertical mounting is -25 to 50 degrees Celsius. Recommended ambient temperature for operation with horizontal mounting is -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. Firmware is installed on the module at the factory. Automation Studio can be used for firmware installation and upgrade. Module certifications include ATEX UL, CE, and HazLoc. The relative humidity for operation and storage is 5 to 95%. Only qualified technical personnel should work with the expansion module.
