Product Description:
The X20DOD322 is a digital output module produced by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It occupies a single slot on an X20 remote I/O node and supplies 24 V switching signals that drive coils, lamps, or interposing relays in automated equipment. By converting PLC commands into field-level voltages, the unit allows decentralized actuation while staying within the series’ compact IP20 form factor.
The module provides 8 outputs, giving a controller eight independent points for discrete actuation. Each channel follows a source wiring scheme, so current flows from the module toward the load. A per-channel limit of 0.5 A keeps conductor sizing and fuse ratings consistent across the panel. The nominal output level is 24 VDC, matching the standard control voltage used for industrial sensors and actuators. The housing carries an IP20 protection rating that guards internal circuitry against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm when the unit is mounted inside a cabinet. Electrical clearances are rated for Overvoltage Category II, indicating that the device is intended for circuits supplied from local distribution and protected from lightning transients.
The module supports installation in machinery frames or plant-floor enclosures at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level. A horizontal mounting orientation allows operation at temperatures up to 60 °C, while a vertical orientation limits the maximum temperature to 50 °C. The design continues to function at temperatures down to -25 °C, supporting cold starts in unheated areas. Relative humidity may reach 95% without condensation, and the module withstands vibration levels of 1 g during operation on typical production lines. A shock rating of 15 g allows the module to withstand handling impacts or rapid machine deceleration without loss of function.
