Product Description:
The X20DO9321 is a digital output module manufactured by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It provides discrete switching points that let a controller drive 24 V devices such as solenoids or signal lamps from a compact backplane segment, making it a common building block in distributed industrial automation where local actuation must be tied directly to a fieldbus network. Field wiring is accomplished by the Push-In front connector, so conductors can be seated without tools and released quickly when service access is needed.
Internally, the card offers 12 outputs, each referenced to the common 0 V rail by a transistor configured for Sink logic, enabling straightforward interfacing with PNP-sourcing controllers. Every channel is designed for a nominal bus potential of 24 VDC and can conduct up to 0.5 A continuously, which covers most indicator lamps, pneumatic valve coils, and small relay drivers. The assembly meets IP20 touch-safe requirements when inserted in an X20 rack and is evaluated for overvoltage category II, making it suitable for circuits supplied from local distribution panels. Routine plant vibration of 1 g across the housing has no effect on switching performance because components are conformally supported on the PCB. This arrangement helps the module remain compact while still handling typical cabinet-mounted output tasks.
The module is qualified for operation up to 2000 m altitude, where reduced air density still permits adequate heat dissipation. Humidity tolerance reaches 95% non-condensing, so cabinet climates typical in food or wastewater facilities will not cause leakage across the output pins. Shock testing at 15 g verifies that momentary impacts during transport or panel access will not loosen the push-in terminals or disturb onboard circuitry.
