Product Description:
The X20DO6529 is a relay output slice produced by B & R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It is installed on an X20 backplane to provide discrete switching of external loads in automated machinery. Within an industrial control cabinet, the module turns field devices on or off under PLC command by means of electromechanical relays, making it a straightforward interface between logic-level signals and actuators that require isolated switching. Because the outputs are relay-based, the module is well suited for applications where the controller must switch external circuits without a direct solid-state connection.
The unit contains 6 change-over relays, allowing each output to switch connected loads through electromechanical contacts. Each relay can switch up to 115 VAC at a continuous load of 0.5 A or up to 30 VDC with a resistive load not exceeding 1 A. These values are the maximum voltage and current levels the contacts can handle without accelerated wear. Overvoltage Category II means the insulation is intended for distribution circuits inside facilities rather than for outdoor supply lines. The depth of 40.2 mm, width of 12.5 mm, and height of 99 mm keep the footprint narrow so multiple modules can be stacked side by side on a DIN rail while still leaving room for field wiring. This slim housing also helps the module fit densely populated control cabinets where channel count and wiring access both matter.
The housing carries a protection rating of IP20, so it must be mounted in an enclosure but remains safe against incidental finger contact. Reliable service is specified up to 2000 m elevation, with ambient humidity permitted to reach 95% RH when condensation is avoided. A vibration tolerance of 1 g resists the typical machine-base oscillations found in packaging or material-handling equipment, while shock resistance up to 15 g helps prevent contact chatter during transport or abrupt machine motion. These operating limits help place the module in enclosed industrial cabinets where moderate vibration, routine handling, and standard indoor electrical conditions are expected.
