Product Description:
The X20DO4332 is a digital output module produced by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Designed for DIN-rail carriers inside decentralized control stations, the module links the controller backplane to field actuators by converting logic commands into power-side switching. In machine cells and material-handling lines, it provides a compact sourcing interface that supplies 24 V outputs directly to solenoids, indicator lamps, and contactors. This arrangement lets a controller switch field-side loads directly from the I/O station while keeping wiring compact inside distributed panels.
Its electrical stage presents 4 output channels arranged in a common power segment. Because the outputs are of the sourcing type, the module drives the positive side of each load while the return is tied to the system ground reference. Each channel is rated for 2 A, allowing parallel operation of multiple inductive devices when adequate suppression is used. A nominal line potential of 24 VDC is switched through a low path resistance of 140 mΩ, so conduction losses stay small and heat rise is limited. The common segment layout also simplifies distribution of the switched supply to grouped loads. Module power dissipation is limited to 2.24 W. The outputs fall under Overvoltage Category II, indicating insulation suitable for connections to local distribution circuits rather than to mains.
The mechanical operating limits support reliable service on factory floors. It carries an IP20 protection rating, so it must be installed in an enclosure while still allowing access to the spring terminals. Because the housing is intended for finger-safe installation only, cabinet protection is required where dust or moisture may be present. Operating altitude can reach 2000 m, and ambient humidity may rise to 95% non-condensing without impairing function. During transport or operation, the electronics endure shocks up to 15 g and continuous sinusoidal vibration of 1 g, helping the assembly tolerate panel movement and conveyor impacts. This is useful in moving equipment where the control cabinet is exposed to repeated machine motion.
