Product Description:

The B&R Automation X20DO4331 digital output module is one of the products of the X20 series that can perform optimally in industrial automation applications. This module is designed to operate at a nominal voltage of 24VDC and can switch voltage with a range of 24VDC with the voltage variation of -15% to +20%, which is quite common in the industrial environment. It offers a nominal output current of 2A per channel and 8A output current in total for all the channels which makes it useful in controlling various forms of industrial loads.

The X20DO4331 has an output circuit which is a sink since it switches the connection to the ground; this means that it is suitable for controlling loads that are in relation to a positive supply. For enhanced protection of the module and the connected equipment, the module incorporates thermal cut-off which trips in the event of over current or short circuit and thus protects the device from heat or electrical faults. The Module has an IP20 protection as per the EN 60529 rating which means that it is protected against objects larger than 12mm such as fingers or tools but it is not water or dust tight thus making it appropriate to use it in clean and controlled environments. The module can work in a temperature range of -25 to 60 degrees C in the horizontal position and from -25 to 50 degrees C in the vertical position.

The diagnostics in the X20DO4331 are complete with module run/error indicators and output status monitoring to easily tell the condition of the module and its operations. The status indicators show the I/O function per channel, the operating state and the module status so as to give a clear picture of the module's performance and health. The module has the disadvantage of a low power consumption of 0. It is 16 W on the bus and 0. The maximum power is 49 W for internal I/O.
