Product Description:

The X20DO4322 module by B & R Automation and is part of the X20 Series that is intended for use in industrial applications that need assured digital output control. This module has four digital outputs and the power supply voltage of this module is 24 VDC. The switching voltage range of the module is 24 VDC with an allowable deviation of -15% to +20% that allows using the module in various voltage conditions of automation systems. The typical output current of each output is 0.5 A, with a total of 2 A of nominal current output current through all the output pins. The outputs are made in the form of current sourcing FETs. .

The X20DO4322 has several protective options, among which there is thermal protection that implies the shutting down of the outputs in case the temperature is too high. Furthermore, the module has an integral free wheeling diode that protects the output from voltage transients that occur when loading inductors hence enhancing the life and reliability of the output. The module also has a maximum short circuit current of less than 12 Ampere. This module has very fast switching times of less than 300us for both on (0 to 1) and off (1 to 0) thus making it suitable for high speed applications that are characteristic of industrial processes. It also has a braking voltage of about 50VDC for inductive loads to ensure that energy is dissipated during the switching process. The load current when the outputs are in off state is only 5 uA thus minimizing the power wastage and increasing the efficiency of the power supply.

The X20DO4322 is connected via 3-wire connection type which makes the installation process easy and at the same time increases the reliability of the connection of each output channel. It has an insulation voltage of 500 V between the channel and the Bus to ensure that there is no electric interference hence to enhance safe operation in areas that have many electric interferences. The module is rated with an IP20 degree of protection which means that this module is only protected against direct contact with fingers and tools but not against water and dust particles.
