Product Description:
B&R Automation's X20DO2633 is an AC digital output slice from the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. The unit mounts on a backplane alongside other X20 modules and converts fieldbus commands into switched mains lines for actuators such as contactors, indicator lamps, and solenoid valves. By providing line-side switching inside a compact IP20 enclosure, it lets control builders extend distributed I/O racks without adding separate relays. Its slice format also keeps the station modular, so output functions can be grouped beside related input and communication modules in the same rack.
The module offers 2 independent outputs that are built with a Triac element, meaning each channel performs solid-state switching on the line conductor while the neutral remains common, a topology identified as L-switching. This arrangement suits AC loads that benefit from silent solid-state operation instead of mechanical relay contacts. Every channel can source up to 2 A, so loads like small heaters or motor contactor coils can be driven directly. Rated load voltage spans from 48 VAC to 240 VAC, so equipment connected outside this window is not supported. Because the neutral is shared, wiring can remain straightforward when several field devices return to the same conductor. A keying voltage of 240 V ensures the slice is inserted only in carrier positions designed for mains potential, and the entire output group is classified under Overvoltage Category II for installation in low-energy distribution networks.
The electronic design is protected to IP20, so fingers and tools are kept away from live conductors once the module is locked into the carrier. The enclosure is intended for protected cabinet installation rather than direct exposure on the machine frame. Reliable service is specified between -25°C and 60°C, with operation allowed in enclosures where relative humidity reaches 95% RH without condensation. Mechanical endurance is verified for 1 g of continuous vibration and 15 g of shock, allowing the slice to remain latched on machines that experience moderate dynamic loads. Stable retention on the carrier helps maintain electrical continuity when surrounding equipment generates routine motion or impact.
