The B & R Automation X20DI2653 is a digital input module from the X20 Series of products suitable for use in a wide range of industrial applications. This module contains two input channels and has an input voltage of 100 to 240 VAC ensuring compatibility with a variety of electrical systems in different industries. The module is designed for standard frequency of either 50Hz or 60Hz and consumes a very low power and the current it draws is only 0.14 W from the bus and 0.55 W is provided externally from I/O.

The X20DI2653 has a programmable input filter which is preset to 1ms but it is scalable from 0 to 25ms in 0.2 ms steps, to let the users set the response time accordingly to the particular application interval they need. The module has a wide frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz and has well-defined switching thresholds; a low threshold of less than 40 VAC and high threshold of more than 79 VAC. This makes it easy to identify signals as well as process them in different electrical conditions.

The X20DI2653 has a high isolation voltage of 2500 VAC for 1 minute thus guaranteeing that the module and other systems connected to it are shielded from electrical interference and hence enhances the robustness of the module. It has an input voltage range of 120VAC to 264VAC which makes it efficient in managing voltage changes. The module is capable of accepting input currents of 4 mA at 100 VAC/60 Hz and 8. The power consumption is 5 mA at 240 VAC/50 Hz for the newer revisions (Rev. ? E0) while for the older revisions (Rev. < E0) it is 5 mA at 100 VAC/60 Hz and 11 mA at 240 VAC/50 Hz thus providing flexibility in the system being used.

The X20DI2653 is highly stable and can function in extreme temperatures ranging from -25 degrees C to 60 degrees C,ideal for harsh conditions. Due to its construction and its use, this device is suitable for industrial applications that need reliable digital input signals.
