Product Description:
The X20CS1013 is a fieldbus communication module produced by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Installed on an X20 backplane, it acts as a central lighting bus controller within distributed I/O stations, giving the automation system a single point from which to issue commands across a DALI segment. By presenting fieldbus process data to the CPU, the unit allows addressable luminaires and sensors to be integrated into machine or building automation without separate gateways.
This controller provides 1 dedicated port configured as a DALI master, so it can directly supply bus power and arbitration while managing up to 64 standard ballast addresses. Its housing carries an IP20 protection rating, which helps prevent accidental contact but does not provide external sealing against water or dust. The electronics meet overvoltage category II, providing insulation distances appropriate for equipment supplied by a building installation downstream from the main distribution panel. The printed circuit board and connectors have a shock resistance of 15 g, helping the module withstand mechanical impacts during installation or transportation. All remaining connections use the X20 spring-clamp style, keeping wiring methods consistent with other modules in the series.
The unit remains operational at altitudes up to 2000 m without derating. In the horizontal mounting position, it supports ambient temperatures from -25 °C to 60 °C. Relative humidity can reach 95% in noncondensing environments, allowing operation in humid production areas or utility rooms. When the assembly is mounted vertically, the permissible ambient temperature range is -25 °C to 50 °C because the orientation reduces convection cooling. Continuous operation on machinery exposed to plant vibration is supported by a vibration resistance of 1 g, helping the module maintain data integrity near pumps, presses, or conveyor drives.
