The X20CP3685 CPU controller from B & R Automation uses an Intel Atom E3915 processor with an 800 MHz clock frequency. It includes 24 kB L1 data cache, 32 kB program cache and 1 MB L2 cache. The controller features one CompactFlash slot and a nonvolatile real time clock with ± 20 ppm accuracy at + 25 °C. CompactFlash storage ensures reliable data logging. The system supports fanless cooling that ensures silent and maintenance free operation. Diagnostic features include LED indicators for battery, CPU function, CompactFlash, Ethernet and POWERLINK. Temperature diagnostics utilize software registers. The controller supports Ethernet, RS232, POWERLINK V2, X2X Link and two USB interfaces for connectivity. Controller redundancy and storage health data support are also available. ACOPOS and Visual Components support further enhance system compatibility. Power consumption of the model without the interface module and USB is 6.9 W while the X2X Link power supply requires 1.42 W. Internal I/O consumption is 0.6 W.
