By merging processor resources, memory, and multiple fieldbus interfaces into one housing, the unit reduces cabinet space while maintaining deterministic data flow for motion, safety, and process tasks. A processor clock of 0.8 GHz drives program execution, while the board carries 512 MB of DDR4 RAM for dynamic variables and 1 MB of SRAM for battery-backed retentive data. Long-term code and recipe storage is handled by 1 GB of onboard flash, and a CompactFlash slot allows removable media to expand this capacity without opening the enclosure. Electrical loading on the system backplane is minimal: the module draws only 0.2 W of bus power and requires a separate backplane supply of 7 W to support internal circuitry. One interface slot links the CPU to additional communication modules, and two USB service ports support local data transfer and diagnostics.
