X20CM0985-1 is an energy measurement and synchronization module. It can perform simultaneous measurement of two AC mains and two additional networks. The module works with X20 industrial automation systems. The AC measurement range is 120 to 480 Volts AC. It finds applications in a range of industrial measurement applications. The module features a mains synchronization unit. The compact size enable easy installation in limited spaces. Three current inputs on the X20CM0985-1 module support 1 Amp and 5 Amps current transformers. Additional features include high resolution measurement and overcurrent resistance. Both 3-wire and 4-wire AC systems can be connected to the module for voltage measurement. It also works with Aron measuring circuits. Values measured by the unit include phase current, phase voltage and line to line voltage. Peak values for voltage and energy values are stored on the non-volatile memory that is available on the unit.
If applications demand, a digital output on the X20CM0985-1 can be used as a pulse encoder for external energy meters. The module bus consumes 1.05 Watts and the internal I/O consume 4 Watts. Total 5 digital outputs are available. These are of the current-sourcing variety with 24 Volts DC nominal voltage and 0.1 Amps nominal output current. The total nominal output current is 0.5 Amps. These digital outputs work with 1-wire connections. The output channels support thermal shutdown for overcurrent or short circuit events. The module is also equipped with one relay output with 30 Volts DC / 240 Volts AC nominal voltage. The minimum switching capacity is 10 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and the maximum is 30 Watts at 240 Volts AC. An additional eight analog input channels are also available.
