The B&R Automation X20cIF10D3-1 is a multipurpose fieldbus I/O module from the X20 series that is utilized in conjunction with distributed automation networks.
The module has the capability to support RS232, RS422 and RS485 serial communication protocols making it easy to connect to a wide variety of industrial data acquisition modules and legacy equipment. The X20cIF10D3-1 has one communication channel to use and has a maximum baud rate of 115.2 kbit/s which will be adequate in a control and monitoring application. It plugs into the control system on the X2X Link, the high-speed real-time communication bus of B&R, so it operates at high speed and with in-time synchronization of the data transfers between the modules. Average consumable power of the module is only 0.75 W, and it uses the X20 bus module power supply that eases the wiring and cuts the setup duration. It offers 500 Veff isolation between the X20 bus and the communication interface, offering electrical safety as well as protection against voltage disturbance.
