The X20cDO2633 is a digital output slice produced by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It installs on an X20 backplane and provides two independently controlled AC channels intended for actuators such as contactors, indicator lamps, or small heaters. Within distributed control architectures, this module functions as a final switching element, allowing the CPU to energize or de-energize loads directly from the fieldbus rail. Its supported voltage range accommodates the AC power commonly found in machinery cabinets.
Each channel operates under phase-angle control, so the CPU can modulate the conduction angle of the triac to adjust power instead of providing only on-and-off service. The board carries two outputs, allowing paired devices to be driven from the same slot. Continuous load capacity is 2 A per channel, so moderate single-phase consumers can be handled without external relays. A discrete triac switching element performs the AC switching without mechanical wear or contact bounce. The circuit tolerates line potentials up to 240 VAC, which aligns with common plant power supplies and reduces the need for step-down transformers.
For low-voltage tasks such as pilot lights, the usable range extends down to 48 VAC, maintaining stable conduction at reduced voltage levels.
