Product Description:

The X20CAI4622 is a special analog input module intended for dynamic automation systems and industrial applications. As an analog input module, this device provides various channels for processing analog signals from other devices, machines, or modules. Particularly, this device has four channels for inputs, each having a range of plus or minus 10 V or 0 to 20 mA. In the context of electronic modules, analog signals pertain to signals that are continuous in time. Since most digital devices interpret signals in the discrete domain, analog signals are typically converted to digital signals as part of the processing step.

To facilitate the conversion of analog signals into discrete or digital signals, an analog-to-digital converter is typically used. The X20CAI4622, in particular, employs a 13-bit converter and a configurable input filter for processing analog signals from the four input channels. During operation, the analog range of each channel must be respected. Exceeding beyond the permissible ranges may incur irreversible damages to the input module, especially when the channels are not electrically isolated. During operation, the X20CAI4622’s internal I/O consumes a total power of 1.1 watts. Like other analog input modules by B&R Automation, this device utilizes a set of status LEDs for providing diagnostic features and signals.

The X20CAI4622’s four analog input channels utilize differential input. The analog inputs for this device incorporate protection against wiring with supply voltage. At most, the maximum input signal voltage can reach 30 V for a short period of time. To facilitate the conversion of analog signals, this module uses successive approximation register (SAR) architecture. Wake Industrial offers this coated module alongside a warranty with a maximum validity of one year.
