Product Description:
The X20BT9100 is a power-feed and backplane bridge module manufactured by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. It occupies one slot in an X20 rack and creates the electrical and data interface between the X2X Link backbone and the downstream slice segments. By combining bus coupling and integrated power distribution in a single housing, the module simplifies installation and keeps control cabinets compact in industrial automation cells that rely on distributed I/O.
Electrically, the module is designed for a control supply of 24 VDC delivered through the rack’s power rail. From this source, it draws only 0.5 W for its own bus electronics, and a further 0.1 W is used for the status LEDs and internal diagnostics. A built-in power feed passes up to 240 W to the attached I/O slice group while monitoring the outgoing current. Overcurrent protection is provided by a replaceable 10 A slow-blow fuse. The summation current available to connected terminals is limited to 10 A, keeping conductor cross-sections and board traces within their thermal limits under continuous load.
Environmental and mechanical limits are matched to typical cabinet mounting. The device maintains rated performance up to 2000 m above sea level and in ambient humidity of 95% non-condensing, so it can be used in most indoor plants without condensation heaters. Its housing carries an IP20 protection rating, which indicates finger-safe access but no sealing against liquids, so it must be installed inside an enclosure. During transport or panel impact, internal components withstand shocks up to 15 g and vibrations of 1 g across the specified frequency range. The X2X Link backplane connector and the detachable 16-pin terminal block permit quick replacement without disturbing adjacent modules. The 24 V supply conductors are assigned to Overvoltage Category II.
