Product Description:
B&R Industrial Automation's X20BB62 is a powerful X20 module that is compatible with the Compact-S controllers. It serves as a bus base for the Compact-S units, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and supply modules. Aside from providing a compatible base for these controllers, the X20BB62 also dedicates a special slot for X20 interface modules. Without any additional X20 module, the X20BB62 is designed to support RS232 connection. For this bus base module, the end cover plates with material codes X20AC0SR and X20AC0SL are included upon purchase. When using this bus base module, the rightmost slot must be used for the Compact-S controller.
Compared with other bus base modules released by B&R Automation, the X20BB62 uses a relatively higher power consumption. With a bus base power consumption of 0.94 watts, this module consumes approximately twice as much as other bus base modules for Compact-S controllers. Although it consumes relatively more power, no other resistive actuators increase the power consumption. Based on B&R Automation's documentation, the B&R ID code for this product is 0xEB08. The ID code is a unique identification for all of B&R Automation's products and is used for quickly identifying B&R devices, especially during intercommunication of X20 devices. The X20BB62's pitch, also called spacing, is 62.5 mm. This quantity is the recommended distance from adjacent modules.
To maximize the X20BB62's expected life and performance, keep the operating temperature between -25 and 60 degrees Celsius and the storage/transport temperature between -40 and 80 degrees Celsius. As per the EN 60529's standards, this bus base module exhibits an international degree of protection of IP 20. With this protection rating, accidental shocks through finger contact can easily be prevented.
