Product Description:
The X20AO2632 is a dual-channel analog output module produced by B&R Automation for the X20 Fieldbus Input Output Modules series. Acting as a digital-to-analog interface, it installs on an X20 backplane to transmit precise voltage or current signals from a controller to field devices such as valve positioners or inverter drives in distributed automation systems. This allows the control platform to send stable analog reference values to external equipment during normal machine operation.
The converter uses a 16-bit delta-sigma stage, giving 65,536 discrete steps for each channel and allowing fine adjustment of process variables. For current-controlled actuators, it sources or sinks signals across the 0 to 20 mA span, while voltage-driven equipment can be fed within a symmetrical ±10 V window; both ranges are selected per channel. There are 2 independent outputs, so one module can serve multiple loads without additional hardware. Its compact housing occupies just 12.5 +0.2 mm of rail space, which helps conserve cabinet width in high-density installations. The front cover and terminal block meet an IP20 protection class, which restricts finger contact while still allowing convection cooling. A Nettime function is also supported, allowing time-stamped telegrams that align output updates with deterministic bus cycles.
Mechanical endurance is rated for shocks up to 15 g and continuous vibration of 1 g, supporting stable operation on moving machinery or in areas with mechanical resonance. Operation is permitted at altitudes from 0 to 2000 m without derating, which covers most industrial plant elevations. The device belongs to overvoltage category II, so its isolation barriers are intended for the low-voltage transients commonly present inside control cabinets. That combination makes the module suitable for control cabinets where reliable analog transmission is required alongside predictable bus timing.
