Product Description:
2PS741.9 is a power supply module. It is part of the System 2000 series from B&R Automation. The primary function of the module is to covert AC input to DC output. Capacity of the module is 50 Watts and the nominal input voltage rating is 110/220 Volts AC. The minimum input voltage is 90 Volts AC and the maximum input voltage is 270 Volts AC. The supported AC frequency range is from 47 to 63 Hertz. Protective features include a fuse, thermal overload protection and current limitation. LEDs on the unit provide diagnostic information during troubleshooting. Dimensions of the 2PS741.9 power unit are 285 x 40 x 185 millimeters. The fuse is installed on the primary side. It is a slow-blow fuse rated for 1.6 Amps and 250 Volts.
To replace the fuse, the first step is to disconnect power to the module. Any electrostatic should be discharged. After opening the module door, the fuse holder can be loosened with a screwdriver. Then the faulty fuse can be replaced by a new fuse. The module monitors its internal temperature during operation and the power supplied to the PCC. Any decrease in the input voltage or an increase in internal temperature can lead to derating of the power output. Therefore, ensuring a stable input voltage and cool ambient temperature are necessary for stable power output. The 2PS741.9 module installs in main and expansion racks for System 2000 units. Each rack requires at least one power supply module. More than one module can be installed in a rack to cater to higher power requirements. The power supply modules can be inserted into any slot on the I/O bus.
