Product Description:
The 2ME913.90-1 application program memory module is produced by B&R Automation for integration with the System 2010 Controllers series. In an automation cell, it plugs into the controller rack to provide nonvolatile storage and buffered working memory, so machine logic, parameters, and status data remain intact during power cycles or brief outages. The module’s lithium backup battery offers a capacity of 950 mAh at a nominal voltage of 3 V, maintaining static RAM contents whenever the external power supply is unavailable.
Short-term retention during battery replacement is handled by a gold foil capacitor mounted in the application program memory section. This component supplies the memory circuits temporarily while the new battery is installed, preventing the immediate loss of stored data. User data is stored in 512 KB of SRAM for high-speed read and write access, while application code resides in a separate 1024 KB flash memory device that supports repeated erase-and-program cycles without losing information when power is removed. A PROM programming interface includes logic within the module and an LED display, providing visual feedback during programming operations and checksum verification.
The unit communicates directly with CP10x, CP2x0, and MP100 CPUs, allowing the controller to access its memory without additional interface circuitry. Its narrow housing measures 32 mm wide, 103 mm high, and 122 mm deep, allowing multiple modules to fit within standard System 2010 enclosures. The compact form also helps preserve rack space for other control and input/output modules used by the automation system. Data integrity during maintenance is protected by a switch on the module that provides hardware write protection. Activating this switch prevents unintended flash memory reprogramming while still permitting normal read operations and access to previously stored application data.
