Product Description:
The B & R Automation 2ME913.9 module belongs to the System 2010 Controllers series and serves as a combined memory expansion, battery-backed retention unit, and programming interface for CPU cards in that platform. Installed next to a CP10x, CP2x0, or MP100 processor, the module keeps application data and real-time information available during power loss and provides on-board status feedback during operation. By integrating nonvolatile memory, an on-board power source, and a hardware write-protection switch in one enclosure, it simplifies configuration of distributed machines and helps preserve logic, calibration tables, and counters between operating cycles in industrial automation.
The built-in battery provides 950 mAh of capacity at a nominal 3 V, maintaining memory contents during controller downtime. Program code is stored in a dedicated 1024 KByte Flash user PROM section that remains intact when power is removed, while dynamic variables run from 512 KByte SRAM supported by the battery. A write-protection lever marked Switch On Module enables or disables changes to the flash and helps prevent accidental overwrites during service. A front-panel LED Display shows when programming is active, and the module accepts programming logic directly without requiring an external programmer.
Mechanical integration is straightforward because the enclosure measures 122 mm deep, 103 mm high, and 32 mm wide, allowing it to occupy a single slot adjacent to the processor without crowding neighboring I/O cards. These proportions leave adequate airflow while still accommodating the battery holder, memory circuitry, and indicator electronics inside the housing. The consistent form factor matches other System 2010 accessories and supports installation in existing cabinet layouts. Its compact footprint places retained SRAM, flash memory, and visual status indication in one module.
