The 2CP210.60-1 CPU module is manufactured by B&R Automation as part of the System 2010 Controllers series. It serves as the central processor in a rack-based control system, coordinating logic, motion, and network communication inside industrial automation cells. By integrating computation, fieldbus handling, and diagnostic functions in one housing, the module provides deterministic control for packaging machines, conveyor lines, and process skids that rely on precise cycle timing and reliable I/O exchange.
The command cycle time is 0.125 µs, allowing fine granularity in interrupt-driven tasks. The central memory array provides 6 MB of SRAM for user code and data, while an internal cache of 2 × 4 KB accelerates operand access to the 32-bit core. Real-time message exchange with decentralized nodes is supported through an Intel 82527 CAN controller, and serial links can transmit at 347 kbaud over RS-485 or RS-422. A hardware memory management unit and floating-point unit handle protected memory segments and floating-point calculations without external coprocessors. Power consumption remains within 22.5 W, limiting heat buildup inside compact cabinets. The board occupies two physical slots in the rack, providing the required space for signal connectors and power-rail connections.
Nonvolatile functions are backed by a 950 mAh lithium cell rated at 3 V, so real-time data and the clock remain available when line power is absent. A dual-port memory block with 128 KB of SRAM permits high-speed handshaking with coprocessor cards without bus contention. The front-panel status display shows 2 × 8 characters, providing textual feedback for operating states and error codes. For cabinet layout, the enclosure measures 285 × 80 × 185 mm. Output contacts used to signal “ready” or enforce a forced stop can carry 3 A continuously and withstand 2 kV transients. The integrated real-time clock resolves events to 10 ms, aligning timestamps with motion sequences and diagnostic logs.
