Product Description:
The 2CP200.60-1/EMS controller is a programmable logic controller produced by B & R Automation in the System 2010 Controllers series. Acting as the central CPU for a machine or production cell, it scans digital and analog inputs, processes ladder or structured text code, and drives outputs in real time to coordinate motors, valves, and safety circuits. As a rack-mount CPU module, it also provides built-in serial and fieldbus links so that remote I/O stations and motion controllers can be attached without additional communication cards. This arrangement allows one module to manage machine logic and communication tasks from a single rack position.
Deterministic execution is achieved because the internal processor completes every logic pass in 0.125 microseconds. User programs, variables, and retentive data are stored in 2 MByte SRAM, while a coprocessor interface gains direct access to a 128 KByte SRAM dual-ported memory block for rapid data sharing. Programming and service laptops connect through the IF1 RS232 port, which sustains 64 kBaud, and an additional RS232 port labeled IF2 can be dedicated to operator terminals. For multidrop serial networks, the IF3 port supports RS485/RS422 signaling and transmits at up to 347 kBaud, allowing fast parameter exchanges between multiple field devices without congesting higher-level buses. Separate serial channels let programming, operator communication, and device traffic remain isolated during normal operation.
The housing measures 285 × 80 × 185 mm, minimizing cabinet space while still providing adequate airflow. IF3 cabling can span 1200 m before repeaters are required, and the separate CAN (IF4) channel moves process data at 500 kBit/sec over distances to 1000 m, supporting peer-to-peer messaging among distributed controllers. Continuous power draw remains below 20 W, simplifying thermal design, and the ready relay can switch up to 3 A to drive status lamps or enable contactors. A real-time clock with 10 msec resolution timestamps events for traceability, and the low-mass enclosure helps maintain steady internal temperatures during continuous operation.
