Internal Product Review
The 2AT600.6 is a B & R Automation System 2010 controller optimized for Type L temperature inputs. A 20 msec conversion time and 0.1 °C temperature resolution support responsive, repeatable thermal measurement in process applications. Sixteen inputs and DIN 43710 compatibility make the controller an excellent choice for multi-channel temperature monitoring.

Product Description:
B&R Automation manufactures the 2AT600.6, a temperature input module for the System 2010 Controllers series. Designed for thermocouple integration, the card converts millivolt signals into engineering units so the controller CPU can respond to thermal conditions in furnaces, dryers, or packaging sealers. By slotting this module into the System 2010 backplane, the control system receives direct, isolated temperature feedback without external signal conditioners, which helps keep cabinet layouts simpler and reduces extra interface hardware. This arrangement also lets multiple measurement points be processed inside the controller platform instead of through separate temperature conversion devices.
Each channel is scanned with a conversion time of 20 msec, so the analog-to-digital converter produces a new reading every twentieth of a second. With 16 available inputs, a single card can monitor multiple heating or cooling zones while leaving other slots free for additional field signals. A complete block update is finished within a maximum cycle time of 235 msec, which gives the control task a predictable refresh interval for temperature processing. Temperature data are delivered with a resolution of 0.1 °C, allowing tighter control of heater switching behavior and narrower process dead bands. When sensor voltage exceeds the overrange threshold of +750.0 °C, the module flags an alarm instead of rolling over, which helps prevent misleading values from being passed to the application.
The lower detection limit is -50.0 °C, so sub-ambient processes can still be monitored. Type L thermocouples made from FeCuNi in accordance with DIN 43710 are accepted directly, and internal linearization removes the need for external lookup tables during signal processing. A built-in 100 Ω shield resistor on every channel helps reduce common-mode interference that can appear over long cable runs. This improves measurement stability in electrically noisy installations where sensor wiring is routed near switching equipment or other control conductors.
