Product Description:
The 2AI300.61-010 analog input module is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the System 2010 Controllers series. It is installed in control racks to digitize voltage signals for the CPU so that process variables such as pressure, flow, or position can be monitored and used for closed-loop regulation in industrial machinery. Each channel is updated within 1 ms, so the card can track rapid changes while still fitting within typical PLC task times.
Its nominal measurement window is centered on ±10 V, letting standard process transmitters be wired without additional scaling. An over-range tolerance of ±20 V is allowed so brief transients do not trigger diagnostic faults. The inputs present 1 MΩ of resistance, minimizing load on high-impedance sources. Signal conversion is handled by a 12-bit successive-approximation ADC that provides 12-bit resolution, producing 4096 discrete values per scan. At 20 °C, the basic error does not exceed ±0.25 %, keeping uncertainty low in stable cabinet environments. Individual channels share a common reference, yet the assembly is galvanically separated from the controller backplane, preventing ground-loop currents between field wiring and the processor.
The front connector brings in 16 voltage inputs, each protected by a first-order hardware filter with a cutoff of 400 Hz to reduce aliasing when fast machine actuators switch. Mains interference is further attenuated by a common-mode rejection ratio of 40 dB at 50 Hz, limiting line-frequency noise that could otherwise distort low-level measurements. Across the full 0 to 60 °C operating span, the total error remains within ±0.5 %, so field accuracy stays predictable even in warm enclosures. The electronics draw a maximum of 9 W, a value that can be used to size the cabinet power budget and ventilation. Mechanical dimensions are fixed at 40 mm width, 185 mm depth, and 285 mm height, allowing the card to occupy a single slot in a System 2010 rack without overhanging adjacent modules.
