Product Description:
B&R Automation supplies the 7TB722.9 as a plug-in terminal module for the System 2003 Controllers series. The component provides a removable wiring interface that can be disconnected from I/O cards and power distribution boards while field conductors remain secured. Fixed screw-clamp terminals face the front of the cabinet, simplifying maintenance access and reducing interruptions in industrial automation cells. The detachable arrangement also keeps field wiring organized when the connected controller hardware requires service.
This model accepts signals through a 22-pin male header, providing adequate channel density for mixed-signal controller racks. Adjacent conductors have a 5.08 mm contact pitch that matches common DIN rail adapters and provides suitable separation between connections. Each contact carries up to 10 A per contact, allowing the block to handle sensor supply lines and small actuator loads without auxiliary relays. Insulation to ground and between terminal positions is rated for 300 V, supporting low-voltage logic and higher-voltage control power in suitable panels. Wiring is retained by screw clamps that grip bare or ferruled conductors, while properly tightened fasteners resist loosening under vibration and permit repeated retermination during service. Two stacked terminal levels separate incoming and return conductors within a single plug, helping maintain orderly routing in densely wired cabinets.
The compact housing measures 52 mm in depth, 76 mm in width, and 33 mm in height, allowing it to fit within the clearance available in System 2003 controller bays. Contact paths have a maximum resistance of 1 mΩ, limiting voltage drop across the plug and helping preserve signal integrity over extended cable runs. All terminations accept copper wires only, preventing galvanic incompatibility with the tin-plated contacts. The material pairing supports stable electrical connections in control cabinets exposed to normal vibration and repeated maintenance activity. Its dual-level terminal arrangement uses the available enclosure space efficiently without increasing the module’s external dimensions.
