The 7CP774.60-1 CPU module is a programmable controller core manufactured by B&R Automation for the System 2003 Controllers series. Acting as the processing center of a rack, it manages user logic, timing, and communication so connected digital and analog I/O cards react in industrial automation cells. It suits machine builders who need compact control hardware that still supports fast cyclic execution and local expansion through screw-in and backplane slots.
The controller’s execution performance stems from a 0.8 µs instruction cycle time, allowing complex ladder or structured text to be parsed with minimal delay. A fastest task repeats every 1 ms, giving motion or process loops a predictable scan. Application variables reside in 100 KB of user SRAM, and firmware is stored in paired 512 KB FlashPROM devices for system and user areas. Up to 12 logical module slots on the backplane accept digital or special-function cards, while four analog module positions and four local screw-in slots handle high-resolution signals. Power consumption stays within 20.0 W, and a lithium battery provides data buffering so retained values survive outages. The real-time clock resolves events to one-second granularity for sequence stamping.
Field wiring is organized through a 9-pin DSUB socket that forms the I/O bus backbone, while network links rely on a 500 kBit/s CAN interface at the same plug type for deterministic peer exchange.
