The AP1000 panels are advanced panels engineered and manufactured by B&R. They are the basic components of control systems such as the Automation panel 1000, Panel PC 900, Panel PC 2100, and Panel PC 3100. These systems are formed by combining the AP1000 panels with link modules or CPU boards and system units. The AP1000 panels can be installed using retaining clips or clamping blocks.

The 5AP1120.101E-000 is an AP1000 panel with a mass of 1900g. Its height and width are 191mm and 279mm, respectively. It uses a thin-film-transistor color display, and its display screen has a 10.1 inches diagonal. Like other AP1000 panels, it utilizes a touch screen manufactured by AMT; hence, the screen is resistive and projected capacitive. This panel's display resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels (WXGA), and it can display 16.7 million colors. Its front end has a frame coated with aluminum, and its keypad overlay is made of polyester. The backlight on the panel is LED, and its brightness ranges from 25 to 500cd/m².

With the 5AP1120.101E-000, the Automation panel 1000, PPC 2100, and the PPC 3100 can be assembled. It is also classified as a device of Pollution Degree 2; thus, its emissions are not harmful to the environment. Its display contrast is 1000:1, and It features a 3mm gasket.
