The 8V1045.001-2 is a three-phase servo drive produced by B&R Automation and delivered under the 8V1 ACOPOS Servo Drives series. It converts a 400 V AC mains supply into a controlled three-phase output that commands brushless servo motors, so it acts as the central power stage in pick-and-place stations, feeders, and other industrial axes. Integrated current sensors, gate control, and fault monitoring allow the unit to enforce motion profiles defined by the higher-level machine controller.

It delivers a rated output of 2 kW, suitable for mid-frame rotary actuators on indexing tables. During steady operation, the inverter supplies a continuous phase current of 4.4 Aeff, while short acceleration bursts may reach a peak of 24 Aeff. An internal DC link capacitance of 235 µF stores regenerated energy and stabilizes the bus voltage. Pulse-width modulation is carried out at a nominal switching frequency of 20 kHz, which reduces acoustic emissions, and the control stage can synthesize a fundamental output of up to 598 Hz so high-pole motors can attain elevated spindle speeds. These electrical limits apply when motor cables up to 25 m are used and the aggregate installed load does not exceed 5 kVA.

For rapid deceleration events, the integrated chopper can dissipate up to 7 kW of peak regenerative energy and 200 W continuously. The housing carries an IP20 rating, so it must be mounted inside a closed control cabinet with forced or natural convection. Mechanical dimensions of 375 mm height, 70.5 mm width, and 235.5 mm depth, together with a 4.1 kg weight, permit tight side-by-side installation on DIN rail shelves. A dedicated inrush limiter restricts 400 V networks to 7 A during power-up, which eases protective fuse selection and minimizes voltage sag on shared bus segments.
