Product Description:
The 8V1022.00-2 belongs to the 8V1 ACOPOS Servo Drives series manufactured by B&R Automation. This drive module supplies regulated three-phase power to synchronous or induction servo motors in tightly controlled positioning, velocity, and torque loops that characterize modern industrial automation cells. Within a multi-axis ACOPOS rack, it handles mid-range motor duties, manages dynamic braking energy, and exchanges I/O with the machine controller through dedicated limit-switch terminals.
During deceleration, the internal brake resistor can dissipate 130 W continuously and withstand surges up to 3.5 kW for short intervals. A motor running at nominal load draws a continuous phase current of 2.2 Aeff, while acceleration events can demand a peak of 14 Aeff. The drive will deliver these currents as long as the heat sink remains within its thermal range. Motor speed control is aided by an output stage that supplies carrier-based sinusoidal voltage up to 598 Hz. This high output frequency supports compact, low-inductance windings and enables rapid response in pick-and-place axes. The brake output transistor sources up to 1 A to engage external holding brakes when motion stops. The maximum permitted motor cable length is 25 m before reflected-wave voltage limits are exceeded.
The power stage switches at a nominal 20 kHz, balancing acoustic noise and switching loss. Overall shaft power is limited to 1 kW, while the shared DC link is stabilized by a 235 µF internal capacitor and an auxiliary 8200 µF storage bank on the 24 V control rail. A 4 A inrush at 400 V AC is expected when power is applied, and the installed load must not exceed 3 kVA on the supply feeder. Three sink-wired limit-switch inputs report end-of-travel conditions, and four plug-in slots accommodate option cards such as encoder interfaces or SafeMC modules.
