The 8MSC7L.R0-D250-1 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor produced by B&R Automation within the 8MS Three Phase Synchronous Motors series. It supplies precise rotary motion for positioning or velocity control in packaging stations, pick-and-place heads, and gantry axes across industrial automation lines. When driven by a matching servo amplifier, the motor converts command currents into mechanical torque that supports accurate cutting, inspection, and material-handling processes on the factory floor.
With a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, the unit suits applications that need rapid indexing without exceeding mid-range torque limits. Heat generated by copper and iron losses is removed through a separate cooling system, so performance remains stable inside enclosed machinery. Power and feedback connectors are located on top of the housing, keeping cable runs short in vertical installations. Rotor position feedback is supplied by a resolver, which is a passive electromagnetic transducer that resists high temperatures and electrical noise. The B&R-designed resolver maintains linearity within ±1 angular minute, enabling fine interpolation for smooth velocity control. Power is transmitted through a smooth shaft that accepts press-fit couplings or shrink-disk hubs.
During installation, the bearing set can accept an axial preload of up to 500 N, simplifying belt tensioning or gearbox assembly without reducing service life.
